Facing Life’s Challenges with Love, Laughter

A mom, daughter and aunt tell their story on Chelmsford Patch and inspire thousands with their words.

Rachel is eight-years-old and has Cerebral Palsy. But that’s just the beginning of her amazing story.

She is a dancer. She loves One Direction. She likes to eat tacos with her grandparents.

And she has done all of this in the hospital, while recovering from surgery.

Rachel, her mom Jenn and her aunt Jannelle, are taking this journey together and sharing it with all of us through their blog: Miss Independent on Chelmsford Patch.

Read about Rachel’s physical therapy trip to the playground in Charlestown or her mom’s advice on how to best use your “free hour” anytime you want after you’ve “fallen back” and changed your clocks. You can also read about how her mom almost asked a nurse out on a hot date (one of the funniest lines we’ve had in a blog in awhile!)

Grab your tissues and read about how Halloween has been a struggle for this family, as many “regular” people don’t always realize the struggles facing disabled children during this walking holiday. And then see how the hospital turned Rachel’s 2013 Halloween into the “best ever.”
