Chelmsford Fire Department September 11 Memorial

The Chelmsford Fire Department is in the process of planning a September 11 Memorial.  This memorial will be located to the right of the main entrance of the new Fire Headquarters.  This project will have a walkway that will run thru a grassy area leading to the granite memorial, which will also consist of two granite columns, each of them eleven feet by nine inches, along with two granite benches surrounded by planters and various flowers.  Two flagpoles, one flying the American Flag and the other the Firefighting Flag will accompany the memorial site with appropriate lighting in order for residents to visit during evening hours.  The men and women of the Chelmsford Fire Department Local 1839 are honored to have the opportunity to commemorate a September 11 memorial for the residents of Chelmsford, in remembrance of those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
