The Banker and Tradesman noted what they termed as a "drastic" drop in foreclosure activity in a report on March figures released last week, with their data for Chelmsford echoing that sentiment.
Last week, Boston-based real estate magazine Banker and Tradesman announced a "drastic" drop in foreclosure activity around the Commonwealth in their latest release of data, a trend that was also echoed in Chelmsford. According to the magazine, Chelmsford saw only two foreclosure petitions for the month of March 2013, in comparison to the 13 in March 2012. Year-to-date petitions were also down from 23 to 7, with monthly and year-to-date foreclosure auctions and deeds also dropping dramatically. Middlesex County as a whole also saw a steep drop in foreclosure petitions, auctions and deeds both for March and for all of 2013 so far compared to 2012. The bubble burst and it is now a buyers market not a sellers market. 750 sounds overpriced to me anyway for Chelmsford, 650 sounds more realistic but still a tad too high. more ›
