Committee Wants Westford To Secure Parking for Rail Trail
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee discussed benches, sign, and parking issues Thursday night.
The Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Committee Thursday night decided to send a letter to the Friends of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail to persuade Westford to construct viable parking for users of the trail. "I think that they should encourage Westford to pursue parking options down there, and the signs should not be viewed as being a solution," said Cynthia McLain, a member of the committee. Chelmsford has several practical parking areas for walkers and bikers using the trail, including an extensive parking area on Pond Street at Hart Pond. Anyone using the trail in Westford, however, often has to rely upon parking alongside roads.
