Chelmsford Man Nabbed for Selling Stolen Jewelry in Nashua

Police say Evan Costello allegedly sold the stolen goods here in September 2011.

Evan Costello, 20, of 8 Fleetwood Drive, Chelmsford, was arrested May 30 in Nashua, N.H. Costello had turned himself in on an arrest warrant for receiving stolen property, sonsolidation, class A Felony. In September 2011, Detectives in the Nashua Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division were contacted by Chelmsford Police regarding Costello selling multiple pieces of jewelry in Nashua that were allegedly stolen. The jewelry was reportedly stolen from a residence in Chelmsford. An arrest warrant was issued for Costello, charging him with Receiving Stolen Property, Consolidation, class A Felony. A class A Felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Costello was released on $2,500 personal recognizance…

Police Gearing up for New Year's Eve

If you're planning to hit the town to celebrate New Year's Eve Friday night, be ready to share the road with many of Chelmsford's finest. "We'll be out there keeping people safe," said Officer Jennifer Bellissimo. Officer Bellissimo said that while the most common arrests around the holidays are for operating under the influence, or impaired driving, the 2010 season has seen fewer arrests than previous years. "I hope that people are just making the right decisions," Officer Bellissimo said, "but maybe people aren't celebrating as much." Either way, the police are glad to see fewer impaired driving arrests this year. The officers have been setting up extra patrols as part of the state-wide "Drunk Driving. Over the Limit.
