Weekend Agenda: A Summer Jazz Series, a Cornhole Tournament & More

Chelmsford:

Jazz Series: Head to the Chelmsford Center for the Arts Sunday at 7:30 p.m. to enjoy a free concert by “Casual Saxtet.” This is the group’s fourth and final concert this summer at the CCA. The theme will be West Coast Jazz, and the concert is free. 
KickboxingSkill of Strength has a brand new Muay Thai Kickboxing group training program beginning in September. Curious? Try a free trial class on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Lowell: 

Southeast Asian Water Festival: The Southeast Asian Water Festival will take place Saturday on the Lowell Heritage State Park’s Esplanade at Sampas Pavillion/UMass Lowell Boathouse. The free festival begins at noon with traditional live music and dance, a fashion show, dragon boat races, Asian food, Southeast Asian crafts and more.
Cornhole Tournament: The Redmen Football Club is hosting a cornhole tournament for teams of two on Saturday. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Lowell Bunting Club’s softball field. There will be cash prizes. To enter, email Jason at jpwagstaff@gmail.com.

Westford:

Restaurant Week: The Westford Regency Hotel will begin restaurant week on Sunday. The restaurant is offering a special two-course lunch for $12.13 and a three-course dinner for $28.13 Sunday through Sept. 1. The hotel is one of many Merrimack Valley restaurants taking part. A Chance for Fresh Fruit: Hill Orchard posted this week to its Facebook that the Santa Rosa plums are finally ripe. Hill Orchard says the plums “won’t last long,” so stop by the farm stand soon!
Lego Club
: The J.V. Fletcher library invites kids ages 6 and up to play with library Legos Saturday at 2 p.m. All Lego creations will remain on display until the next time the Lego Club meets.
