Chelmsford Community Playroom
Mothers, fathers, grandparents, looking for a welcoming place where both you and your child can socialize? The Chelmsford Community Playroom is a cooperative, all volunteer effort to provide play and social time for children birth to 5 years. The group meets on Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the meeting hall of All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Billerica Rd., right outside of Chelmsford Center.
Each meeting consists of free play time with lots of toys for everyone, snack time, and arts and crafts. There are also fun special events, such as holiday parties and visits from children’s entertainers.
Classes start today. Dues are a reasonable $45 for the full year and $25 per session (Session 1-Sept.-Dec., Session 2-Jan.-June). There is also a $1 fee per child to cover the costs of snacks and craft materials.

Eat for Lower Cholesterol at Stop & Shop
If you have been advised to make some lifestyle changes to manage your cholesterol, make a reservation today to attend a FREE workshop at Stop & Shop, 299 Chelmsford St. Their in-store nutritionist, Julie Menounos will conduct a store tour focused on foods that will help to lower cholesterol or improve overall health. She will also include what foods should be included in your diet and what to avoid along with a quick tip on how to identify foods that contain cholesterol.

Join a Book Group
With the summer season over and schedules a little more manageable, why not consider joining a Book Group at the Chelmsford Public Library? The experience will broaden your literary world, provide interesting book discussions and the opportunity to meet people who enjoy reading as much as you do!

Evening book discussion group meets at 7 p.m. usually on the first Monday of each month (with the exception of Monday holidays and summer months)
Morning book group meets at 10 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month

Council on Aging Calendar Raffle
The Council on Aging is running another calendar raffle for the month of January. Raffle tickets are available through September. Get a jump on your holiday shopping...these make excellent Christmas gifts! Tickets are $10 each. Each ticket seller who sells 10 tickets is awarded a free ticket of their own!
