Volunteers Needed to Help Clean Up Chelmsford Park

A Saturday event is planned to help clean up the park McCarthy Middle School.

With the help of Chelmsford residents, a local park will hopefully be getting a new look this weekend.

Volunteers are needed to help clean up Carl A. Olsson Memorial Park at McCarthy Middle School on Saturday, according to a Facebook event page.

The clean up is sponsored by the Chelmsford Open Space Stewardship, and will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Residents are encouraged to attend whether they need community service hours or if they are just looking for a way to give back.

It's not necessary for volunteers to bring any equipment as the Open Space Stewardship will provide the tools. All that's needed is a group of volunteers.

"Let's make this park look great," Philip Stanway posted on the Chelmsford Patch Facebook page. "Just 2-3 hours is all it takes and we can make a difference."
