“We all have a role to play, and the more we can get children involved in making nutrient-rich food choices at home and through programs like ‘Fuel Up to Play 60’ at school, we can have a positive impact on the next generation,” said Lisa Burnett, registered dietitian from the New England Dairy & Food Council, in the press release.

Stop & Shop itself is a very health-conscious supermarket chain. One of the main headings on its website is “healthy ideas”, consisting of food safety tips, ways to identify healthy foods in store, and “Passport to Nutrition,” a page geared toward kids that educates about eating and lifestyle. The Chelmsford location at 299 Chelmsford Street also has a nutritionist on staff to answer customer questions about food and diet, as well as provide customer consultations by appointment.
