Al Thomas Honored as a July 4 Parade Marshal

Al Thomas currently serves on the School Committee. He will be one of three parade marshals.

Al Thomas, former Chelmsford High Principal and current member of the Chelmsford School Committee, will be one of three parade marshals in the July 4 celebration. Here is some more information and a personal profile of Al Thomas.

 Wife: Judith L. Thomas

Son: Damon A. Thomas. He is married to Danielle Coddington of Coral Springs, FL.

Daughter: Lauren J. Thomas-Paquin. She is married to Daniel Thomas-Paquin of Shutesbury, MA

Grandchildren: Aidan Elizabeth Thomas-Paquin, Shae Katherine Thomas-Paquin, Ty Daniel Thomas-Paquin, Gabriella Marie Thomas

Education: Thomas went to high school at Middleboro Memorial High School, and received a B.S. from Springfield College, an M. Ed from Tufts University, C.A.G.S. from  Boston University and performed additional graduate work at UMass Lowell.

Involvement: He served for 40 years in public education, at Chelmsford Schools from 1972 to 2009. He served as a teacher, coach, advisor, department head, dean, and principal.

Thomas is currently serving his first term on the Chelmsford School Committee. He has been a Town Meeting Representative from Precinct 5 since 1989. He is a current board member of the Rotary Club of Chelmsford, and was president of that club in 2009-2010. He has also been a board member of the Chelmsford High School, Alumni Association since 1994.

Thomas is currently a member of the Chelmsford Swim and Tennis Club, as he is a former manager and swimming coach for 20 Years. He is a member and lector at All Saints Episcopal Church and is a former vestry member.

Thomas is a former Chelmsford Youth Soccer and Chelmsford Church League basketball coach.
