A Dog's Eye View: Help! Much Ado About the Holidays...

This week's blog only involves dogs a little bit, and not directly....

The denial is officially over. When turkeys go down to $.59/lb at Market Basket, I know it's time to gear up for Thanksgiving, because it's probably about two weeks away. Who needs a calendar? This single event triggers a laundry list of things to do, and in the style of a country Mother's Club, this year I'm no longer afraid to ask for help.

To start off:

-the Holiday Decorating Committee would love to have anyone who loves to decorate for Christmas join us this Sunday, November 13 at 7:30AM on the Town Common to put up the lights for this year's Holiday Prelude happening on December 4. The Prelude officially will begin at 4PM, but the Committee would also appreciate anyone who can help with the finishing touches by coming at 2:30PM on the day of the Prelude.

-the Senior Center is holding its Annual Fall Craft Fair on Saturday, November 12, from 9AM-2PM. They will also be serving lunch at very reasonable prices, so please come support our local crafters and get some Christmas shopping done. As an added bonus, I will be there, too!

-Another chance for Christmas shopping is to be had every Saturday at the Agway Winter Farmers Market, between 10AM-2PM, also to support a wide variety of American made goods by local people.

-For pet owners, the Annual Rabies and Microchip Clinic is being held on December 3, from 10-noon at the Chelmsford Dog Pound. Those of you who visited us three years ago-it's time to get your boosters!

-Visit the Lowell Humane Society to get information on their Gingerbread Dog House contest, and perhaps get your pet's photo taken with Santa on November 26 or 27th.

-And finally, the famous Chelmsford/Billerica Football Game will be held in Billerica this year on Thanksgiving Day. Go Lions!
