North Chelmsford Gets Mosquito Spraying Following Tyngsboro Horse Death

The Chelmsford Board of Health announced authorization late Thursday afternoon to spray for mosquitoes in North Chelmsford following the news of a horse dying from Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) just over the border in Tyngsboro.

Follow up sprayings may occur if warranted, with the first spraying occurring at 8 p.m. on Thursday evening.

For more information on the spraying or how to opt out of future sprayings, residents can call the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project at 508-393-3055 and the Chelmsford Board of Health at 978-250-5241.

More information on EEE and other mosquito borne viruses is available on the Massachusetts Department of Health and Human Services website, and a list of streets to be sprayed during the Thursday treatment is available on the Town of Chelmsford website.
