North Chelmsford's Jack Eichel Makes U.S. World Junior Hockey Team

The North Chelmsford teenager is already an accomplished veteran in national youth hockey circles.

Already considered a top prospect for the NHL in a few years, North Chelmsford's Jack Eichel just took another step toward future hockey greatness.

Earlier today Eichel was named to the 2014 U.S. National Team for the World Junior Championships in Sweden beginning later this month.

A right-handed winger, he currently committed to Boston University for his freshman year next fall, and has already tallied 49 goals and 95 points with other U.S. junior national hockey squads over the past two years, tied for the lead on under-17 national team with six points during the 2012 Four Nations Tournament in Monthey, Switzerland. 

So far this season, he leads the U.S. National Under-18 team with 16 goals. 

Other Massachusetts natives making the roster include North Reading's Ryan Fitzegerald, Charlestown's Matt Grzelyck, and Needham's Dan O'Regan,
