Last Minute Tewksbury Goal Sinks Chelmsford Lacrosse

The Lions boys lacrosse team erased a late deficit to tie the game with 1:56 to play in the game, but the Redmen fired home the winning tally with just 43 seconds left.

The Chelmsford High School boys lacrosse team managed a dramatic comeback on Wednesday. But it was visiting Tewksbury that saved its best performance for last as the Redmen escaped town with a last-minute victory.

Trailing by three late, the Lions managed to knot the score at 11-11 thanks to goals from Bill Grant and Jon Fairbanks, whose tally at 1:56 in the fourth quarter evened things up.

But with 43.5 seconds left Colin Quinn fired home the game-winner for Tewksbury, sealing a 12-11 victory.
