Chelmsford High scores 56 in win
The CHS Lions football team improved to 4-1 on the season as they dominated the visiting Methuen Rangers on Thursday night en route to a 56-18 victory. The 56 points comes a week after the Lions scored 42 points against Lawrence.
Quarterback Colby Emanouil and Running Back Eddie Sheridan combined for 213 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the night as Chelmsford scored 42 first half points to completely control Methuen in all facets of the game.
Senior captain Corey Everleigh also starred on special teams for the Lions setting up favorable field position on multiple drives with his long punt returns.
The Lions took a 42-0 lead to the break and came out and scored on the first drive as Sheridan found the end zone on 15-yard run for his fourth touchdown of the night. The four touchdowns gave Sheridan 13 for the season over the first five games.
The highlight of the second half came early in the fourth quarter as junior running back Sean Sarault took the ball and rushed 65 yards to pay-dirt and capped a 56 point night for the host Lions.
The Lions will host Andover (4-1) on Friday night in a pivotal MVC Large match-up between two of the states top teams and the two teams most talked about in the pre-season to win the MVC Large. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Simonian/ Alumni Stadium.

Mass Maritime (3-2) junior defensive back Evan Sheridan (Chelmsford, Mass.) recorded nine total tackles (seven solo) and a sack for the Buccaneers in a 23-19 win over previously unbeaten Worcester State on Saturday afternoon in Buzzards Bay, MA.
University of New England junior Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) had a strong outing at the net, registering 12 kills with three blocks for UNE in their 3-0 win over Bridgewater State on Saturday at the 31st Annual Crabtree Invitational at Geissler Gymnasium. UNE has been on a roll as of late winning six of their last eight matches to improve their overall record to 8-11.
