You Tell Us: Memorable First School Days?

Take a trip down memory lane.

The kids are starting school soon. So we thought it would be fun to ask what your memorable first school days were? First day of high school? First day of seventh grade?

What made first school days memorable then? The smell of the air becoming crisp? Your new school clothes? Seeing all your friends and other kids you haven't seen? Meeting your new teachers and comparing class schedules with friends?

And of course, what are some funny anecdotes you'd like to share?

I moved to North Andover the summer before 11th grade. On the first day of my junior year, guidance counselor and track coach Steve Nugent showed me where all of my classes were and made me feel very welcome at (the old) NAHS. Later that year, we packed up and moved to the new building.

Sophomore year, I decided to skip the first day of school. Well, I woke up late and was tired so decided not to bother trying to make the bus. So anyway I slept in and a while later my mom called from work. The school had called her and she was not amused. She made me walk all the way to school which was like 5 miles!
