Parks Named Principal of Parker Middle School

He starts in his new role in November.

The following was submitted by Chelmsford Public Schools.

Jeffery Parks has been appointed Principal of the Parker Middle School in Chelmsford.  Mr. Parks has served as the Parker Assistant Principal since July 1, 2006 and will succeed current Principal Denise Rainis.  Ms. Rainis recently announced her retirement effective November 24th of this year.  Mr. Parks will assume the role of principal that day.

Mr. Parks has served in the field of education since 2001.  He began his career as a high school teacher in Waltham before being hired at the McCarthy Middle School in 2002.  He was a middle school health teacher for four years before joining the Parker administrative team.

Along with providing service to the Parker community, Mr. Parks is a member of several district wide teams. He is an active member of the School Threat Assessment Response System (STARS) team with the Northeast Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and is also finishing his doctorate in Educational Leadership at Northeastern University.  He currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bridgewater State College and a Masters Degree in School Administration from Cambridge College.

Mr. Parks was notified of his appointment yesterday by Superintendent Frank Tiano.  A lifelong Chelmsford resident, Mr. Parks gratefully accepted his new role and is eager to continue his work with the students, families and staff of the Parker Middle School.

A great choice! He was one of our favorites when he taught our daughter at McCarthy. He really "gets" kids. Very happy for him!

Great Person. Well deserved. He has never changed his personality from high school, just a well liked individual. He will be a great Principal and the parents should be happy. Congratulations Jeff!
