Chelmsford Students Pass Automotive Assessment Test
Patrick Calnan passed five components while Evan Sullivan passed all eight. Both are Chelmsford residents.
Two Chelmsford residents were among a group of students in a Nashoba Valley Technical High School program who recently passed several components of an automotive assessment.
Twelve Nashoba students in the Automative Technology program passes at least one of the four core components of the National Automotive Students Skills Standards Assessment, which is known as the NA3SA.
NA3SA is an independent non-profit organization that aims to evaluate technician-training programs based on standards that have been established by the automotive industry.
The organization also recommends qualifying programs for certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.
According to Nashoba Tech, the four core components are suspension and steering, brakes, electrical/electronic systems and engine performance.
Students can also test in other areas, including engine repair, automatic transmission and transaxle, manual drive train and axles, and hearing and air conditioning.
Among the postgraduate students who passed at least four core components was Patrick Calnan from Chelmsford and Evan Sullivan, also of of Chelmsford.
Calnan passed five components while Sullivan successfully completed all eight components.
