Chelmsford Residents Rewarded for Performance as Athletes of the Month

Amber Uzzell and Nichols DeSalvo, Chelmsford residents, were honored by Nashoba Tech.

A pair of Chelmsford residents have been recognized for their athletic performance on the field as Athletes of the Month.

Nashoba Valley Technical High School announced recently that Amber Uzzell and Nicholas DeSalvo, both of Chelmsford, have been selected as Athlete of the Month for April.

Uzzell, the daughter of Christin Raffaelo and the late Dean Uzzell, plays for the girls lacrosse team and is a high-scoring junior.

But lacrosse isn't Uzzell's only sport. She is a three-sport athlete who is a strong contributor to the volleyball and basketball teams. In addition, she is an honor roll student in the Early Childhood Education program, also serving as a Kick-Off Mentore for incoming freshmen.

DeSalvo, meanwhile, is the son of Timothy and Cheryl DeSalvo. He is a senior midfielder for the Viking boys lacrosse team.

The Chelmsford resident is on the honor roll as a part of the Carpentry and Cabinetmaing program at Nashoba Tech.

Next year, DeSalvo plans to begin two years of school at Middlesex Community College before transferring to the University of Massachusetts Lowell, studying Civil Engineering.
