Selectman Jim Lane has just announced at the Selectmen's meeting that after a discussion with his family that he will not seek another term on the Chelmsford Board of Selectmen this spring.
Lane said that he expects to remain involved in town government in some way, but wished to make his decision early to allow any candidates to prepare their campaigns.
