Online Quiz Matches Voters with Ideal Presidential Candidate

The free quiz takes an in-depth look at your stance on a range of issues, then compares them to candidates' responses.

Still on the fence about which candidate you'd like to vote for?

One option is iSideWith.com, an online political tool that matches your stance on various issues with those of Mitt Romney, Barack Obama or those running on other lines, such as Jill Stein, presidential candidate for the Green Party, or Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson.

The site was launched earlier this year to help voters match up with their ideal candidate, and according to iSideWith.com's homepage, more than a million people have taken the free quiz to determine their ideal candidate since it went live in March.

The quiz covers topics from social issues to foreign policy, and answers can also be fine tuned with a scale allows you to set the level of importance for each issue.

Responses are then analyzed to determine your ideal candidate, complete with a breakdown of your response matches.

The question is, does it work? You tell us. If you've taken their quiz ,let us know what you think. Is the candidate it matched with you the candidate you plan to vote for, and how does it compare to other candidate quizzes out there?

Surprising, I actually side with Obama more than Jill Stein. I guess I'm voting for him this year, Stein couldn't possibly win anyways with all the advertising Obama and Romney get. Either way, I definitely hope Obama steps his game up next time around, he disappointed me a bit during his first presidential term.

took the poll a few months ago: ron paul 87%, gary johnson 82%, romney 73%, obama 16%. romney's stronger than expected results (and the huge spread between him and obama) means i won't have to hold my nose to vote for him in the general. sorry, gary johnson. i'd like to see some of rand paul's bills signed into law. won't happen under obama. it's a reverse coat-tails election: liberty and constitution lovers are making inroads in the GOP. romney's not my ideal, but to maintain the grassroots momentum, and to slow the bleeding, he has my vote.

People who voted for Obama the first time thought he would really deliver all he promised -changing Washington and being a saint to the people. What we actually got is an arrogant narcissistic man-boy who may be a tremendous community organizer but he has been a largely abscent president.

Obama has kept many promises despite tea party/gop obstructionism. Health care reform was and is a very big deal. What Obama did with the health insurance industry is already making a big difference for many Americans in reduced premiums and better protections. Children cannot be denied coverage on their parents' plan because of a pre existing condition like diabetes. Nor can insurers dump a beneficiary because of Cancer - because the most profit comes from insuring only the healthy. No wonder big pharma and insurance has worked hard to defame Obamacare, humane coverage earns less blood money.

Wow Rodger...do you feel this way about all African Americans, all Democrats, all people who want healthcare available for all, all people who want equal pay for women, all people who want PBS and money daycare and HeadStart and Pell Grants, or all of the above? Communist?

premium cost have gone up, not down and many medical practice cannot afford what the " affordable" care bill asks them to do. Many offices already don't accept medicare because they can't afford to. Many medical primary care offices are barely making ends meet and with this bill it is getting worse. Rural heal is taking a big hit. talk to the providers ( who are ot getting wealthy) to get some perspective.

Obama has delivered quite a lot on what he promised...but the funny thing is that he has ended up being much more centrist than the platform he ran on in 2008. And, he got quite a lot accomplished in the two years before the Republicans took over the house and vowed to make Obama a one term President by gumming up the works. You all holding your noses while you vote for Romney is sad and naive. Our economy IS turning around. Housing starts have rebounded. Unemployment has dropped below 8%, the stock market is back above 12,000, we are regaining a manufacturing industry here in the states and putting a focus back on education which will make us competitive in the new economy. Additionally we are drilling more on national soil than ever before. We are set to be the world leader in Natural Gas drilling. As the CEO of Bain, Mitt focused on short term gains. Has he truly explained how he will make the US a global leader for 10 - 20 years out? I don't think so.

Prior to the debate I thought Romney got credit for moving Massachusetts to #1 in Education. I learned in this debate that Massachusetts was #1 years before Romney took office. So his boasting about Mass education is hollow. Another point I learned in this debate is Mitt's jobs record in Massachusetts. I cannot imagine a more important single fact than how successful Mitt grew jobs when he was governor. We now know the answer: Massachusetts was 47th in the country in job growth. I was SHOCKED. Fact checkers have validated the number. I am mind-boggled. His job success in Massachusetts was worse than bad. WHY IS ANYONE VOTING FOR THIS GUY?
Joseph Andrews October 23, 2012 at 05:26 AM
Because Romney is running against an empty suit. A man with a poison tongue whose entire campaign is attacking Romney the man, rather talking about the specific he accomplished. Obama as a president has been a failure and if he loved this country he would be resigning nor running for office.
R HAWK October 23, 2012 at 03:57 PM
no this is not about race and womans rights.
bstem1 October 24, 2012 at 04:59 AM
Joseph can you honestly say that you trust Mitt Romney to follow through with what he has said in the campaign if he is elected? Probably not, because it's so hard to know what he will do if he's elected, because he keeps changing his position on everything, from healthcare reform to economic reform to International relations. Barack Obama has followed through with his platform from the start. He has been consistent. Okay, maybe you don't like what he has enacted...but you can't say he's an empty suit who hasn't worked for the people.

My insurance premiums are going down next year for the first time EVER that my husband and I can remember. He manages the company of tens of dozens of employees, and it is the first time we have had this happen. And yes, it is for the exact same benefits. Since he has worked through this problem, trying to get the most for the least, bidding it out through the years, etc. he is aware of all the differences; and he told me that the Obamacare changes are what made the difference. He is not in agreement with Obama on some other issues, but this is one thing he had no doubt about.
sam October 30, 2012 at 03:39 AM
Romney, has lied, changed his position on almost everything, even on the last debate, endorsed the presidents foreign policy. because he is ignorant and a fake. All Romney wants to do is win the election and for him to do this, he will even sell his soul to the devil.
