Few Surprises at Nomination Deadline
The ballot is set for this spring's town election.
Monday brought the final date and Tuesday brought the final slate of candidates for this spring's town elections.
With the last minute withdrawal of late nomineee Jack Wang, only the race for Planning Board Associate member between Jeff Apostolakes and Nancy Araway will join the five way race for the Board of Selectmen as the only contested town-wide race.
There, Matthew Hanson, Pat Maloney, Roland Van Liew, Bob Joyce and Janet Askenburg seeking to gain one of the two seats up for grabs on the board.

With six full-term seats up for grabs in each precinct, only Precincts 1, 6, 8 and 9 will see contested races, with only three non-incumbent candidates not obtaining the required nomination signatures and Precincts 2, 3 and 4 seeing fewer than six candidates overall.
The vacancy in Precinct 5 will also have no candidate's name on the ballot, with the only candidate who did take out papers, Louis Marino, not obtaining the required amount of signatures.

Marino indicated on the In-Town Report Facebook page and Chelmsford Reps and Residents Facebook page that he will pursue a write-in campaign for to fill the one-year term.
