Wanted Local Man Skips T Fare, Lands in Jail, Police Say

Michael Lowe was arrested Thursday.

A wanted Chelmsford man was caught Thursday after police said he skipped out on paying subway fare.

Michael Lowe, 26, of Chelmsford, tried to evade paying a fair by "piggybacking" behind a paying customer, police said.

Officers approached Lowe to give him a citation and soon discovered he had a warrant for theft out of Lowell District Court. He was taken into custody on the warrant and issued a citation fare evasion.
