Three Patients Reportedly Transported From Multi-Vehicle Route 3 Crash

In a separate incident minutes later, a driver crashed into a Verizon pole but was uninjured.

One vehicle rolled over and several people were injured during an early morning crash in Chelmsford involving multiple vehicles.

Scanner reports indicated that just before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, a multi-vehicle crash was called in to police.

The accident reportedly involved as many as five vehicles on Route 3 South, about a half mile north of Exit 32.

Multiple ambulances were requested to the scene, according to Twitter user and scanner follower Dave Avery, who reported that three patients required medical attention and were brought to Lowell General Hospital.

In a separate incident minutes later, scanner transmissions indicated that a single vehicle crashed into a Verizon pole at the intersection of McIntosh Road and Courtland Drive.

The occupant of that vehicle declined medical treatment, but the crash brought down some cable wires in the area and damaged the pole.
