Shoplifted Knife Leads to Drug Charge for Bedford Man

Chelmsford Police Department officers made several arrests in recent days. Below are those arrests, which do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, May 6

  • Following a traffic stop, Chelmsford Police made an arrest of a Lowell man on a traffic warrant and two new traffic charges. James Charles Begley, 28, of 90 A Street, Lowell, was charged on an outstanding warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. He was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle after a registration was revoked.
  • Wal-Mart reported a knife has been stolen from inside the business. Police arrived at the scene and arrested Colin B. McMaster, 28, of 9103 Avalon Drive, Bedford. McMaster was charged with shoplifting by asportation of merchandise and illegal possession of a Class A substance.
Thursday, May 8
  • On Boston Road at 7:58 p.m., police pulled over a vehicle who was reportedly operating erratically. Following the traffic stop, police arrested Shawn D. Reardon, 29, of 3 San Mateo Drive, Chelmsford. He was charged with illegal possession of a Class B substance.
