Police Find Man Allegedly Smoking Pot on Porch

The following are entries from the Chelmsford Police log for Aug. 10, 11, 12 and 13.

Additional information is available in certain cases from the Chelmsford Police Records Department for a nominal fee.

Friday, Aug. 10

Arrest – Curtis Van Slyke, 18, 472 Warren St. in Dorchester was arrested on charges of alleged assault and battery and destruction of property.

7:10 a.m. – Police spotted a woman outside Sears lying flat on the ground. It turned out she was just waiting for her manager to open the door, she had no medical issues.

9:05 a.m. – A woman was upset with a mechanic on Chelmsford Street after her vehicle failed to pass inspection.

10:20 a.m. – Police broke up a dispute between two women living next to each other on Sheila Avenue over an unwanted friendship.

Saturday, Aug. 11

Arrest – Benjamin Guarini, 31, 6 Temple Dr. in Methuen was arrested on charges of alleged larceny of property over $250, shoplifting, two charges of giving false addresses to police, along with nine earlier alleged larcenies under $250, two counts of receiving stolen property under $250.

Arrest – Deborah O’Neil, 49, 11 College Ln. in Methuen was arrested on charges of alleged property larceny of over $250.

4:50 p.m. – A random man came to a home on Kiberd Drive asking to see their electric bill and requesting to use their bathroom.

Sunday, Aug. 12

Arrest – Martha Lopez, 47, 24 Brooks St. in Lowell was arrested on charges of alleged larceny of property over $250 and delinquent child support.

3:20 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a man smoking marijuana on a porch on Middlesex Street. The man allegedly had just destroyed the glass bowl he had used to smoke the marijuana and no further marijuana was found on his property.

Monday, Aug. 13

12:55 a.m. – A resident on Littleton Road heard “popping noises,” but they were not investigated further by the officer on the call.

8:48 a.m. – One young boy called Chelmsford Police after his two dogs started fighting each other. Apparently one of the dogs, still a puppy, bit the ear of the other dog to instigate the fight.

8:56 a.m. – Police met a woman on Quigley Avenue to speak about a dispute with an ex-boyfriend over ownership of a dog.

10:15 a.m. – A dead “squirrel-like” rodent was found deceased in a home on Moore Street, police aided in its disposal.
