Plane Makes Emergency Landing Near Chelmsford High School

A male pilot was reportedly the only one on board, and he suffered no injuries.

Mechanical failure forced a small plane to make an emergency landing on a Chelmsford field, just feet away from Graniteville Road.

Twitter user Laura Kender shared a photo of the plane, which landed safely in the grass near the Chelmsford High School fields.

"Something you don't see every day," Kender tweeted. "Plane on Graniteville fields."

NECN reported that mechanical problems caused the emergency landing, and added that the man inside the single-engine plane escaped injury.

Chelmsford Police told Channel 7 reporter Andrew Miller that no property damage resulted from the landing.
