DA Seeks Reinstatement of Child Porn Charges for Chelmsford Man

According to the Lowell Sun, the imprisoned former Chelmsford man was allegedly caught with child pornography images.

A former Chelmsford man in prison for raping two young boys is at the center of a court debate after he was found with questionable photos in his jail cell.

The Lowell Sun reported that Norfolk County's District Attorney is asking the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, the highest court in the state, to reinstate possession of child pornography charges against John D. Rex Jr., who is currently in jail at MCI-Norfolk.

In 2011 during a search of Rex's cell, prison officials allegedly found an envelope with pictures of nude boys, which came from National Geographic magazine. However, after a grand jury indicted Rex on the charges, a judge in a lower court dismissed them because they were not considered pornography, according to The Sun.
