The Middlesex District Attorney's office now has a face that may be familiar to Chelmsford residents.

Chelmsford resident Wendi Safran was named Assistant District Attorney earlier this week, the office of District Attorney Marion Ryan announced recently.

“Wendi has worked as both a prosecutor and a public defender – experience that will be an asset in handling the day to day duties of an Assistant District Attorney in the busy Framingham District Court,” said Ryan in a press release announcing Safran's appointment.

A graduate of Boston College Law School, Safran most recently served as Legal Counsel to Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America. During her time in that role, the Chelmsford resident investigated possible mortgage loan modification fraud.

“We are excited to have Wendi as part of our team,” said Ryan.

Well, can we trust little Wendi to keep the next Jarod Remy locked up? The next Jennifer Martel wants to know.

She seems like she has the right education and experience to do a great job as assistant district attorney. Congratulations to the District Attorney for making an excellent choice and to Wendi Safran on her new position.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but it is not a selection or an appointment. In fact the DA probably did not hire her. She is one of many that work for the DA's office. She was hired just like any other law school graduate that has been hired.
