Has Chelmsford Patch changed?

What has happened to Patch?  I just read an article on Global Warming, with some 57 or so comments, and I don't recognize even one name...is Chelmsford Patch.com now tied into other communities?   I don't see any topics that seem related to Chelmsford at all......

They fired everybody in sight. Have no idea but you will notice many stories now run for days and a lot are outdated; like today is Monday and they are still posting Saturdays storm.

I think the global warming article you mention appeared in "Trending Now on Patch", which I believe brings topics (news) from places other than Chelmsford. Myron is correct, stories run for more days than necessary, some outdated, and it's disappointing. I also don't recognize any of the names I see but I am assuming that this "trending" includes towns nationwide since I've observed comments in other articles on this particular site from as far away as California. I suppose it's not a bad thing but I do miss the real local stuff ... am hoping Patch will cover our own BOS and other town meetings. Am wondering who our new editor is, would be nice to be introduced to him/her here on Patch. (I miss Andy!)

Myron..yes, I knew they fired a lot of the people who brought Patch to us...not sure what they were thinking? I can watch the National News at 6:30pm on any number of stations....DON'T need to be reading local news on my computer at what USED to be a local "channel"..( for lack of a better term)..no doubt they think they've made a "good move"....but I sure don't agree. Maybe it's a good thing......I'll have a lot more time to visit with friends on Facebook ! ! I agree Anna....Andy was the best, and no doubt is missed by more than a few....

Biased is never "fresh news", its toxic and shameful. I hope the Patch has a new, fresh outlook and perspective, one that is considerate of all of the residents!
Donna Reed February 18, 2014 at 02:22 PM
The BOS meetings are "biased"? And who EVER said Patch was about "Fresh News"? It was intended to be LOCAL news....."biased" or otherwise......We don't need Patch to read what we can also read in The Chelmsford Independent, The Lowell Sun, or The Boston Globe....and could you explain how Global warming that is being commented on in Patch by people who live in California is "considerate" of all Chelmsford residents?
Ur a Veal February 18, 2014 at 10:58 PM
Hey Donna.... it sounds like your related to the "laid off"....
Donna Reed February 19, 2014 at 01:14 AM
I'm not related to any of the "laid off"..... Not at all. I just happened to prefer Patch as it was initially presented to us........and I'm sorry...but I still don't know how anyone could think that reading comments from people who live as far away as Ohio and California would even remotely be considered as a "fresh, new outlook" OR "considerate" of all Chelmsford residents.....and since it was you who made the comment, i simply asked if you would explain your reasoning..........you havn't.........
Donna Reed February 26, 2014 at 06:15 AM
Hey..." Ur a Veal"....Just saw the headline on one of this morning's "stories"...a story that should certainly appeal to you...a story with a "fresh, new perspective"...one that is certainly "considerate of ALL Chelmsford residents"....I didn't read it, didn't feel a need...but it's the story about the two men trying to have sex with a cow. But since you're looking for fresh, new stories, you might want to have a "look see". Maybe it offers more "fresh, new" information than the headline indicates.

Well with a name like Donna, you sure are more inbred more than myself, no pun intended. In case your a bit slow to get the actual pun, "your a veal" actually means your lead to slaughter without knowledge.. so with that said, I guess touche' is in order'/.... so have a go lassie....which may interpreted otherwise as well.... why dont you have a go at it! Ladies or so say first...
Ur a Veal February 26, 2014 at 11:12 PM
I see you frequent fish bones as well...at least you have some class!
Anna Bucciarelli February 27, 2014 at 06:05 AM
Ur a Veal ... whatever are you talking about? Objecting to getting global stories rather than getting local information is no sin. While I don't object particularly to the trending stories, actually read only a couple, I miss local news that is glaringly missing from Patch these days and I, along with Donna and some others, wish Patch would get back to giving us local stuff, including but not limited to town meetings. Why ever would you object to that?
myron February 27, 2014 at 11:13 AM
Why is it that certain people on this site always feel the need to demean anyone else. Often for no reason....and it's always the same people doing it.
Donna Reed February 28, 2014 at 09:33 AM
Ur a Veal..I wasn't make any reference at all to your name, or whatever it is you call yourself. I simply started my comment with it because the point I was making was directly related to your earlier comment regarding the "changes" in Patch. So your comments about my name, and "have a go at it Lassie", or that I "frequent Fishbones"...really seem a little out of place here and are totally irrelevant...And Myron.....yes, you're exactly right.....it's so much easier for certain people to be demeaning to others when those involved aren't brave enough to use their own name... .....it's SO much easier to be rude when you remain anonymous.
Paul February 28, 2014 at 04:05 PM
Donna, why not disappear like your boyfriend Andy. Are you that new to the Internet that you don't understand why some people don't want to use their real name? Do you wonder why when you vote it is not public information? Give it a break already.
Donna Reed March 01, 2014 at 12:50 AM
Lookie, Lookie..what have we here.?...another coward. You "men" are really tough you know that?.........yeah. You really are. Your reference to my "boyfriend Andy" is uncalled for. Are you so new to Patch that you aren't 'aware when it first started you HAD to use your real name..? They didn't let "big, tough guys" like you and the "Veal" hide behind phony names.....nor did they allow toughies like you to make personal attacks. So as long as we're "offering suggestions"....why don't you go crawl back under that rock you obviously slithered out from under...?
