Paul Peterson, 77, of Westford died unexpectedly Friday evening, June 20, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital.

He was the husband of M. Eileen (Cummings) Peterson with whom he would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on November 10, 2014.

Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Carl D. and Sarah E. Peterson. He was raised in Chelmsford and graduated from Chelmsford High School with the Class of 1955. He earned an Associates Degree from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance with the Class of 1957. Paul also graduated from Northeastern with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with the Class of 1967.

Paul owned and operated Paul Peterson Financial Services for over 20 years. He previously worked at Raytheon of Andover.

He was a member of the H.E. Fletcher Club in Westford, MA and the Chelmsford Elks. He was an avid sports fan especially of the Boston, Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter in-law, Michael and Laurie Peterson of Newburyport, MA and Larry Peterson of Salisbury, MA; three daughters and two sons in-law, Susan Peterson of Eugene, OR, Tracy and David Crocker of Groton, MA, Jill and Steven McDonald of Westminster, MA; a brother, Douglas and his wife Jeanne Peterson of Banning, CA; a sister in-law, Dorothy Murphy of Lowell, MA; seven grandchildren, Eric and Sarah Peterson, Cody Peterson-Lunden, Meaghan Riney, Hailey McDonald, Hannah and Tommy Crocker; and many nieces, nephews and cherished well-loved colleagues and friends.

He was the father of the late Deborah Peterson of Pacifica, CA who died April 4, 2008 and the brother of the late Robert Peterson of N. Chelmsford who died December 25, 1988.

Visitation Wed. morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex Street, Chelmsford. Burial in West Chelmsford Cemetery, Chelmsford. Memorials may be made in his memory to the Cameron Senior Center, 20 Pleasant Street, Westford, MA 01886.
