Evelyn L. (Speers) Lally, 59

Evelyn L. (Speers) Lally, 59, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington following a brief and hard-fought battle with cancer.  She was the beloved wife of James R. Lally, to whom she was married for 26 years and mother of her adoring son, Robert S. Lally of Chelmsford.   

She was born in Brighton on June 27, 1954, and was a daughter of Winifred (Burk) (Speers) O’Gorman of Port Orange, FL and the late Arnold Speers.  She received her education in Brighton schools and was a graduate of Brighton High School. 

Evelyn was a passionate and talented landscape designer and was the owner of A Bloom with a View.

In her free time she enjoyed landscaping, water skiing, needle point, knitting, doing arts and crafts, and especially spending time with her family at their cottage on Wilson Lake in Acton, ME. 

In addition to her husband, son, and mother, Evelyn is survived by her father-in-law, Robert Lally and his wife Joan of Palm Desert, CA;  her mother-in-law, Suzanne Tatarczuk of Foxboro; her sister-in-law, Mimi Lally of Foxboro; her brothers-in-law, Roy Montoya, Sr. of Marlboro, Joe Lally and his wife Joyce of Austin, TX, and Ed Lally of Orlando, FL; many nieces and nephews, including Dustin Montoya and Roy Montoya, both of Marlboro; her lifelong friends, Diane and Rob Armstrong of Whitman; and her soul mates, Peggy and Donnie Gagnon and their son Bebo of Sanford, ME.

She was also the sister of the late Anita Montoya. 

Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Thursday from 11 am until 1 pm followed by her Funeral Service at 1 o’clock at the funeral home.  Interment will be private.
