CLARICE ERMA (CAMBPELL) REISS, 106

The following was submitted by Blake Funeral Home of Chelmsford.

- CLARICE ERMA (CAMBPELL) REISS went to meet her maker on November 23, 2013. She was born September 24, 1907 at 22 Wesley Street, Somerville, MA, the daughter of the late Herbert E Campbell and Charlotte M Robinson.

 Clarice was a graduate of Lexington High School in June of 1926.  After graduation she worked for a Mr. Hill selling vegetables at a roadside stand.  This is where she met her future husband, John M Reiss.

 On September 2, 1926, she married John and they settled in Lincoln, MA where the first five of their eight children were born.  On February 2, 1942 they moved to 14 Parker Rd., Chelmsford, MA where they raised their eight children.

 Clarice was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and two sons John H. Reiss, Sr and Robert W Reiss. She was also predeceased by grandsons; Robert C Maguire and Keith A Stone, her brother Clifton R R Campbell, and sister, Aline H Campbell.

She is survived by her children; Lorraine C. Campbell, James C and Joan Reiss of Chelmsford, MA; Carolyn L and Edmund Jodlowski, Constance and Edward P. Stone Sr. of Titusville, FL, Paul E and Linda Reiss, Miamisburg, OH, Stephen and Juanita Reiss of Dayton, OH, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. She also has one niece and two nephews.

Clarice was affiliated with the Lowell Seventh Day Adventist Church -presently the Merrimac Valley Church of Dracut, MA from 1943 to the present.  She was head of the Dorcas Society for many years. She enjoyed going to camp meetings in South Lancaster, MA.

  Starting in 2004 she wintered in Titusville, Fl., and summered in Smithville Flats, NY.  On November 2, 2009 she entered Vista Manor Nursing Home which was her final residence.

REISS, CLARICE ERMA (CAMPBELL).  Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 12 noon to 1pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD.  Her Funeral Service will begin at 1pm followed by a graveside service in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Clarice’s memory may be made to the SPCA International, Inc., P.
