Chelmsford Resident, 95, Was Actress, Cook and Coast Guard Veteran

According to her obituary, Theresa Plummer's greatest joy came from spending time with her family, who recently gathered to celebrate her 95th birthday.

Theresa (Sandler) Plummer, 95, of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert M. Plummer.

Tess was born in Des Moines, Iowa on February 24, 1919 and was a daughter of the late Jacob and Cheryl (Anchor) Sandler. 

Tess was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. In addition, Tess was an accomplished actress, an excellent cook and a world traveler. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family who recently gathered to celebrate her 95th birthday.

Tess is survived by her three children; Betsy White and her husband Peter of Chelmsford, Janice Burberry of Rome, Italy, and Robert Plummer and his wife Julie of Saginaw, MI, and six grandchildren; Derek and Michele White, Graham Burberry, Megan, Martin, and Elliot Plummer, and her sister-in-law Shirley Sandler of Venice, FL. Tess was predeceased by her son-in-law Keith Burberry and her siblings David and Kenneth Sandler and Lyn Gantz.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 am at the Funeral Home. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
