32nd Great Lowell Walk for Hunger-Think Globally-Act Locally.

Think Globally-Act Locally. Support the local charities that battle hunger in our Merrimack Valley Communities. Participate in the 32nd Annual Greater Lowell Walk for Hunger on Saturday, April 5th, 2014.

The 32nd Annual Greater Lowell Walk for Hunger is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, 2014 beginning at 8:00 A.M. at St. Mark's Church, 75 Cold Spring Road in Westford. This is an open invitation to all in the Merrimack Valley to participate in this tradition of providing funding for several vital charities that battle hunger in the Greater Lowell area. All donations will be distributed to support:  The Alternative House, The House of Hope, The Lowell Transitional Living Center, The Open Pantry of Greater Lowell, The Merrimack Valley Food Bank Mobile Pantry, and the food pantries in Westford and Chelmsford. In addition, our national outreach program, Sharing, Inc. receives charitable assistance to support their mission to eliminate poverty and hunger wherever they exist.

This Fundraising event provides corporations, churches, fitness clubs, middle and high school organizations as well as athletic teams an opportunity to support these local charities through group participation. It is an excellent way for local youth to support those in need and take part in a fitness activity while meeting community service and National Honor Society application requirements.
