Farmer's Almanacs Says This Winter Will Be Colder, Snowier
Two almanacs in New Hampshire and Maine are predicting a tough winter this year.

Old Farmer's Almanac, based in New Hampshire and celebrating its 222nd year, is predicting below-normal temperatures and above-normal snowfall for the coming winter season.
Old Farmer’s Almanac based its prediction on a a drop in solar activity and a change in ocean patterns, reported the Associated Press.

Last month, the Maine-based Farmer’s Almanac, in its 197th year, gave an almost identical weather forecast.
“Sweaters and snow shovels should be unpacked early and kept close by throughout the season,” said Janice Stillman, editor of the Old Farmer’s Almanac.The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts a cold winter for every region but the lower Great Lakes, upper Midwest and the northern states of the Northeast.
