Jeff Bauman, Marathon Bombing Survivor, Now a Father

Boston Marathon bombing survivor and Chelmsford resident Jeff Bauman and his fiancee on Monday announced the birth of their first child.

Nora Gail Bauman was born Sunday, the couple announced on Facebook.

"Everyone is happy and healthy!" they said.

Bauman, 28, lost both his legs in the blasts on April 15, 2013. He recovered and now walks with prosthetics.

Bauman was the man being wheeled away from the bombing scene in a dramatic photo published across the globe.

Bauman has been hailed as a hero, as he helped identify Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as one of the alleged bomber.

Bauman wrote a book, "Stronger," about his experience.
