Dog Training Class on the Common Continues Tonight

The Chelmsford Dog Association's (CDA) Dog Obedience Classes continue tonight (Monday) at 6:30pm, on the Chelmsford Common.  The classes are great for beginners and especially the family.  It is always good to have the whole family understand the commands and the dog to learn from everyone.
The class is led by CDA member Beth Logan who uses a reward based training approach, and believes the most important part of preparing your dog for training is building a good relationship using "positive markers".

Dog owner questions during class are encouraged and classes are filled with lots of tips and advice, such as:

If your dog is acting like he is in charge - feed him from your hand for a week. Do not let him on the couch or your bed. Make him wait for you to walk through a door before he does. All these are ways to tell him that you are the leader.

Classes are also a great way to socialize dogs, and meet some great owners, too.  Classes are $5, to benefit the Chelmsford Dog Park.  Drop in for one or more classes.

Please bring a standard leash (no retractable leashes), treats and water for your dog.
