Solarize Chelmsford Public Meeting

As part of a statewide effort to reach Governor Patrick's goal of 250 megawatts (MW) of solar power installed by 2017, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) launched the Solarize Massachusetts (Solarize Mass) program in 2011. The program’s goal is to encourage residents and business owners to adopt solar photovoltaic (PV) technology through a program model that brings solar power to Massachusetts homes at discounted rates. Chelmsford and Carlisle were selected by the MassCEC and the DOER as two of the ten towns to participate in the 2013 Solarize Massachusetts program to bring about affordable purchase and no cost lease solar systems to homes in the two partnered communities.

There will be two information workshops for residents, who are i...nterested in learning more about the Solarize Mass program and those considering installing a solar PV energy system. Residents from Chelmsford and Carlisle may attend either workshop.

Wednesday, September 4 at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Adams Library, Chelmsford)

The program ends September 30, 2013, so plan to attend one of these sessions if you are interested in learning more. The workshop agenda will include a presentation on the Solarize Mass program as well as both one-on-one and small group discussions on a variety of topics related to solar photovoltaic (PV) energy systems. Experts will be available to discuss the options to consider in moving to solar energy.

Plan on joining the workshop if you are brand new to solar PV energy systems, and would like to begin learning what they're all about, if you are in the process of acquiring a solar PV energy system or if you have already received a proposal for a solar PV energy system and would like to review and discuss its contents and/or other options worth considering.

Also, watch for volunteers who will be canvassing their neighborhoods in the coming weeks
