"Perspective on Health Care Reform in the Country and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts" - James Roosevelt, CEO of Tufts Health Plan, grandson of FDR

Andover, Mass., April 28, 2014 – The Harvard Club of Merrimack Valley (HCMV) Annual Dinner Meeting will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Palmers Restaurant, 18 Elm St, Andover, MA.  Guests will include local students of the Harvard Class of 2018.  The Annual Dinner is the Club's signature event and is its most popular.

Jim Roosevelt is the Chief Executive Officer of Tufts Health Plan and President of Tufts Health Plan Foundation. He joined Tufts Health Plan in 1999 as senior vice president and general counsel until June 2005, when he became president and chief executive officer.

Before joining Tufts Health Plan, Mr. Roosevelt was the associate commissioner for the Social Security Administration in Washington, D.C. Mr. Roosevelt has been a partner at Choate, Hall and Stewart in Boston, past chairman of the board of trustees for the Massachusetts Hospital Association, and past president of the American Health Lawyers.  In November 2008, President Barack Obama appointed Mr. Roosevelt to co-chair a review of the Social Security Administration.

Mr. Roosevelt received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, A.B. from Harvard College, and AMP (Advanced Management Program) from Harvard Business School.

The HCMV Annual Dinner Meeting is a Harvard community event, open to Harvard alumni and affiliates.

 

The Harvard Club welcomes new members who are graduates of all Harvard University schools, faculty members, or administrative staff.  The Harvard Club sponsors a variety of educational events, scholarships, philanthropic projects, and the Harvard Prize Book Award at local high school graduations.
