Slavic Spirit in Classical Music: String Quartets by Dvorak and Tchaikovsky

Featuring Lidija Peno and Marla Rubinson (violins), J.J. Tanzer (viola) and North Chelmsford resident Shay Rudolph (cello).

Program:  Dvorak String Quartet in E-flat, Op.51, "Slavic"
and Tchaikovsky String Quartet in D, Op.11, "Accordion"

Fascinated by the folk music of their region, Czech composer Antonin Dvorak and Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky used Slavic songs as the basis for these string quartets.

The concert will be followed by a light reception with the musicians.
