Community Corner
CCA Fourth Friday Open Mic
Featuring: George Capaccio Storyteller*Author*Actor
In
addition to performing for audiences of all ages, he has hosted a national,
award-winning children’s TV show (The
Children’s Room); published original children's stories with major
educational publishers; narrated a series of children’s books-on-CD for
Houghton Mifflin and other publishers; and performed as an actor in local
theaters, including the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge and the Museum
of Science’s Science Theater. In recent years, George has developed a strong
interest in the Middle East. From 1997-2003, he made 9 trips to Iraq with
various peace groups in order to understand the effects of US-enforced
sanctions on the Iraqi people. What he experienced in Iraq led him to re-focus
his storytelling and writing on issues of peace, justice, and social change.
George’s theme for his CCA Feature performance will be: PATHWAYS TO PEACE
