Selectmen last night appointed a new Council on Aging director after Diana Ryder announced her retirement earlier this year.
Deb Siriani, currently Council on Aging director in Carlisle, will take over the job on June 11. Siriani previously served as program coordinator at the Senior Center in Chelmsford, Town Manager Paul Cohen said. During her time in Chelmsford, Siriani started the month veterans breakfast and numerous other programs at the center.
Cohen said Siriani has a pleasant demeanor and a skillset that makes her a good fit for the job. Siriani said she has already met with Town Finance Director John Sousa to get up-to-date on the department's finances and is looking forward to starting her new job.
