Chelmsford Residents Hold Impromptu Candlelight Vigil for Connecticut Shooting Victims

Feeling the need to do something following Friday's tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut, Chelmsford's Ryan Donaher and Sheena Miller helped rally dozens of local residents in a matter of hours on Saturday night.

Chelmsford residents Ryan Donaher and Sheena Miller felt the need to do something after the 9/11 attacks in 2001, so they spontaneously gathered then on the Town Common to help give their neighbors a place to grieve. On Saturday night, they did it again.

In a matter of hours, the two helped bring together around 50 to 70 local residents on the Common as part of a candlelight vigil for the victims of Newtown, Connecticut.

The pair both graduated from Chelmsford High School in 2006, but both retain ties to the area and were pleased to help offer a focal point for those looking to show their sympathy for those involved in Friday's tragedy.

"I think this showed the real holiday spirit," said Miller. "We wanted to do what we could to help show that we care, and we're glad that so many people came out to show their support on such short notice."
