League Title Baby!!! – Girls Improve to 13-0

Playing in a hostile road environment against their biggest league rival, Chelmsford rose to the challenge in defeating Reading 22-14 to capture the River Valley League Regular Season Title.  Chelmsford improved to 13-0 in the league while Reading dropped to 12-2, both losses coming at the hands of Chelmsford.

Co-Captain Megan Hill (2 points) scored the first bucket of the game and led the charge along with fellow Co-Captain Julia Perreira (8 points).  Both players were relentless in going after loose balls, playing tough defense and scrapping for rebounds.  The girls trailed 7-6 at halftime, with their trademark defense keeping them in the game despite their offense struggles.

Hannah Polce (4 points), Rory Plunkett, and Angelina Serra all hit big hoops early in the 2nd half as the offense started to roll.  The girls showed excellent poise in breaking Reading’s tough full court press, while Sydney Alto and Grace Dionne shined on both ends of the court.  Alessandra LeBrun hit a key basket late in the game to put the game on ice.
