Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Names New Chief of Neurology

Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates announces that Dr. Bonnie Hersh has been named Chief of Neurology. Harvard Vanguard is a multi-specialty physician practice with offices across eastern Massachusetts and is an affiliate of Atrius Health.

 

“We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Hersh is taking on this new role as Chief of Neurology,” said Interim Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dan Burnes. “Bonnie has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improving the care delivered to our neurology patients during her time at Harvard Vanguard. She will be a great leader for the department.”

Dr. Hersh joined Harvard Vanguard in 2000 as a staff neurologist and sees patients at its Kenmore, Braintree and Chelmsford practices. During her time in the Neurology department, she has created a specialized care program for patients with Parkinson's disease and has been highly involved in clinical research trials to improve treatment of this disease. She also initiated a Botulinum Toxin clinic for treating neurological patients at the Kenmore office.

Dr. Hersh received her medical degree from McGill Medical School. She completed her Neurology training at the Longwood Neurology Residency Program, followed by fellowships in Movement Disorders at Boston Medical Center and Neurophysiology/EMG at Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to joining Harvard Vanguard, Dr. Hersh worked in the Movement Disorders Group at Boston Medical Center.
