Construction Underway on Boston Road Plaza

According to the Lowell Sun, construction is expected to be completed by July.

The Boston Road plaza where Stop & Shop and Marshall's used to operate is getting a major facelift. But to build up, developers are first doing some knocking down.

On Tuesday morning, construction workers knocked down the outdated steel facade of the plaza, the first step in significant renovations that are likely to last until July.

According to a report in the Lowell Sun, the overhaul of the 61,000 square foot building is going to cost about $4.5 million. Among the businesses who will be moving in are Choice Fitness, Nobo Modern Japanese Restaurant & Bar, and Sports Clips, the newspaper reported.

"We think it's a great site," Adam Winstanley, a principal with Winstanley Enterprises, said while walking through the property on Tuesday.
