Sunrise Bagels Moving to Wilmington

Sunrise Bagels is planning to move to Wilmington in May. According to owner Larry Cutts, they are closing their North Reading location and will not be a bagel shop when they open in Wilmington.

The new shop will be open at 355 Middlesex Ave. in Wilmington. The Wilmington Selectmen voted to approve a common victualer license for the restaurant last week. They plan to change the menu up a bit in the new location, especially the breakfast menu, Cutts said.

Angelina's Italian Ristorante Granted Entertainment License

Music, singing and maybe even a little dancing are returning to 1866 Main St.

At its meeting on Tuesday, the Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to grant an entertainment license to Angelina's Italian Ristorante. Angelina's opened last year in the same space that once was home to The Black Olive, a restaurant that also featured live entertainment.

Bedford

Dana Strayton comes from a long line of restaurateurs, with her father, grandfather and great grandfather all having owned restaurants in Boston's North End dating back to 1929. 

Strayton's grandfather, John Plescia, opened the Prince Cafe on Prince Street in the North End in 1930. Strayton changed the name of her Bedford eatery from Carriage House Cafe to Prince Street Cafe to honor her grandfather's legacy in more ways than one.

It's just after 1 p.m. on a Wednesday, and the thermometer outside is stuck at 20 degrees. Step inside Collins Brothers Chowder Company, and you are struck by the humidity, which is almost as thick as the soup. The salty aroma of corn-and-bacon chowder hangs in the swirls of condensation that fog the window from the inside out.

This is just how it is at the small Temple Street take-out place, where owner Dan Largy can be found behind the counter chatting it up with the parade of lunchtime regulars, or running up the steps into the back kitchen to check in with soup chef and business partner, Bob Hughes.
