Chelmsford Resident Wins Best Actor Award

The Nashoba Tech junior won the award for his performance in "Shrek: The Musical."

Chelmsford resident Marc Macedo is an ogre. And that's a compliment for the Nashoba Valley Technical High School junior.

Macedo recently found out that he was awarded a TAMY for Best Actor thanks to his performance in "Shrek: The Musical." TAMY Awards are given out to central Massachusetts students each year by Theatre at the Mount.

A student in Nashoba's Electronics and Robotics program, the school says that following his graduation next year Macedo plans to continue acting and singing after graduation.

In previous years, the Chelmsford resident has also had lead roles in "Hairspray" as a freshman and "Once Upon a Mattress" in his junior year.

When he's not performing with the school, Macedo performs with Tewksbury-based Actors Inc., which is a community theater group. This spring he was a part of the group's production of "Les Miserables."

Earlier this year, Macedo used his singing talents to win the Mr. Nashoba competition as he performed the John Legend song "All of Me."
