Chelmsford Resident to Perform in Boston Children's Theatre Production of 'The Addams Family'

Production features the talents of 27 young actors including Chelmsford's Gabriella Huggler.

Your favorite television and film characters come to life on stage this summer as Boston Children's Theatre's (BCT) Summer Studios 4 students present the marvelously macabre musical "The Addams Family" and the inspirational musical phenomenon "Fame." Featuring the talents of 59 BCT Summer Studio 4 students who range in age from 14 - 19 years old. "The Addams Family" and Fame will be performed in rotationAugust 7 - 10, 2014 at the new state-of-the-art theater at Shore Country Day School in Beverly. 

"We are thrilled to provide our audiences with an exciting range of musical theatre productions this summer," said BCT Executive Artistic Director Burgess Clark. "Both 'The Addams Family' and 'Fame' have enjoyed cult-like followings on television, film and now on stage. The popularity of both pieces makes it both exciting and challenging for our students. It's a wonderful experience to watch these gifted young actors take on these iconic characters and make them their own. There is no better way to showcase the extensive range of talent this summer than with these two productions."

Featuring an original story, "The Addams Family" tells the weird and wonderful tale of Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, and her quest to keep a very big secret from her mother Morticia. Come meet the family as see where 'normal' meets The Addams Family- with hilarious results! Directed by Burgess Clark, with choreography by Nicole Soriano and music direction by Austin Davy, "The Addams Family" was created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. It's based on characters created by Charles Addams.

"The Addams Family" features the talents of 27 young actors from 24 communities, including Chelmsford student Gabriella Huggler. 

First as an Academy Award winning film and then an Emmy Award winning television series, "Fame" makes the leap to the stage with an intriguing look into the lives of students at the prestigious High School for the Performing Arts. A bit of life imitating art, "Fame" is an inspiring story filled with high octane dance numbers, intense drama, and unforgettable music that will have audiences dancing in the aisles. Directed and choreographed by Brian Dillon with music direction by Rob Rucinski, "Fame" was conceived and developed by David De Silva with book by Jose Fernandez, lyrics by Jacques Levy and music by Steve Margoshes. The title song "Fame"" was written by Dean Pitchford and Michael Gore.

The cast of Fame" features 31 young actors from 25 communities. 

Performance Schedule and Ticket Information:

Performances of "The Addams Family" are Friday, August 8 at 8 p.m., Saturday, August 9 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, August 10 at 7 p.m. "Fame" will be performed Thursday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, August 9 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, August 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students. "The Addams Family" and "Fame"  will be performed at Shore Country Day School, 545 Cabot St. in Beverly. For tickets and information, visit www.bostonchildrenstheatre.org or call 617-424-6634, x225.
